Strawberry-Romain Salad (Lynette)

  • romaine lettuce
  • Boston or Butter lettuce if available
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • 1 cup or more of Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup or more slivered almonds
Tear/cut lettuce into bite sized pieces. Combine sliced strawberries, cheese,and nuts. just before serving, toss with dressing. Be careful with how much dressing to use. This recipe makes a lot.

Dressing:

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp garlic (or 2 garlic cloves)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (for color)
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
Combine ingredients in a jar. Cover tightly and shake.
