Dutch Oven Chocolate Cake

  • One chocolate cake mix
  • other ingredients required by mix
  • one large package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • two cups boiling water
In  a separate bowl, make the chocolate cake mix as directed on the package.  Then stir in the instant pudding mix.  Pour into a 12" Dutch oven that is lined with foil.  Pour two cups boiling water on top.  Stir in water very slightly, not until well blended.
Cook 30 to 40 minutes with 8 coals on bottom and 12 to 14 on top. Too much bottom heat will burn the cake. Best when served with vanilla ice cream.
